Adil,

What kind of NAS are you using?  We use Netapp filers (NFS/CIFS) and have no problems sharing data between multiple servers simultaneously, even when combining Unix and NTFS filesystems.  Even the most basic NAS servers should be able to allow multiple servers to access the same data (File Locking?) . Half the idea of the NAS is so you can share data.

I do not think Vircom officially supports a load balanced solution, only the stratus server solution.  However, there are customers out there doing it from what I understand.

Subject: [Modus] Cluster solution

We have a storage (NAS) that we want to use for Modus mail. We cannot connect more than one server to it at a time otherwise the data is corrupted. MS cluster solved this problem, but it will allow one machine at a time to access the NAS. This is waste and we need to load balance our mail traffic. We searched for cluster  products and so far the only solutions we found implement data replication or disk mirroring. Do you know of any other solution that allows simultaneous storage access?

Thank you,

Adil A. Ahmed
