I have had experience with BB in the past.  There are actually two versions.
The enterprise version is a software that watches exchange mailboxes for
messages then it delivers a copy of that message to the handheld.  This is
the one that I worked with.  There is also another version that I believe
will work with any POP mail system.  I am not sure of all the particulars on
this though.  I think it is more of a client side redirector which means
their office mail client has to be open all the time.

I guess this info is not much help but it has been 4 years since I worked
with the system.
