It was by design since it's likely that customers would not fully understand
the side effects of domain wildcards.  For example, a customer might think
they can add their entire domain to the whitelist using "[EMAIL PROTECTED]".
This would allow spam to get through that spoofed the "from" address as the
users own email (fairly common).

There was some discussion during testing about the pros and cons of allowing
users to add domain wildcards and Vircom decided to restrict it to the
console for now.  I think if they added it to the web interface it would
need a bit more work to prevent incorrect usage (i.e. some pop-up warnings).
