Netscape is an old adversary, and Mac is another issue. But if I remember
correctly from VopMail days, Netscape doesn't like the '@' in username for pop3 so use '%' instead. Our local
paper is Netscape 4.7 /Mac and I haven't heard anything bad from them, and
believe me I would if it was an issue.

We have a client running Netscape 4.7 on a
Mac for a domain that we host on Modusmail . They are running into
an interesting issue when trying to check their mail.
If they setup their mail client for pop3 it tries
pops up a window that says "Password for mail user
[EMAIL PROTECTED]" (Pop3.kathexisdesign.com is the incoming mail
server) and rejects the password.
However if she changes it to IMAP it pops up a
window that says"Password for IMAP user [EMAIL PROTECTED] on
pop3.kathexisdesign.com" and then checks her mail just fine.
At first I thought this was something just on her
system, or that she was having an ID 10 T error, but I was able to duplicate
this issue on my XP workstation using 4.7 however Netscape 7 works fine in
either pop3 and imap settings.
I'm fine with chalking this up to yet another
Netscape glitch but I am curious if anyone else has seen this, or knows of a
cause for this.
