* This is the modus mailing list * I've mentioned this before, but it looks as if SPF records are finally getting some traction:
http://slashdot.org/articles/04/01/09/0435234.shtml?tid=111&tid=120&tid=126& tid=187 Since there doesn't appear to be a downside (except the usual DNS performance issues), I'd like to make feature request for support for SPF records in ModusMail. Specifically, I'd like to be able turn on SPF lookups and deny any mail out of hand that fails the SPF lookup. If SPF records don't exist, obviously we'd let the mail through and run the normal spam checks on it. I realize this won't do a lot in the short term, but this seems like a relatively low cost feature to add (all of the functionality required already seems to exist in ModusMail in one form or another). Obviously, the more hosts that support PTR, the more useful it will be.
