Hi Adam,
As you mention you have ODBC setup I won't go into that.
Modus Mail expects two fields for the mailing list a full name and an
email address. The query you would use to derive this is:

SELECT Email, FirstName + ' ' + LastName FROM Customers
---
In addition you want to limit customers based on the 'NewsFlag' field
which is actually a TinyInt field. To do this you would use the
following query:

SELECT Email, FirstName + ' ' + LastName FROM Customers
WHERE NewsFlag = 1
---
I have verified this for Rodopi v5.2 later versions may not work as
Rodopi were migrating the way they were storing the Customer Details to
using a similar structure to how they store the Service Details (ie.
ObjectValues table).
As a side note, this would only send emails to the addresses held on the
main Customer Account and not to every email address on your system. You
could modify the Email Detail to include a NewsFlag field and then use a
query to pull from the ObjectValues table to email every single account
on your system.

I'm trying to recreate our customer mailing list and I'm running into a
snag. Under the Database Config screen I've got the info to connect to

db and verified that it connects through ODBC. With it set to select
won't
it just be "email From customers" ? Also, along the same line so only
people who wanted to receive news from us wouldn't I just have to add
"where
emailflag = true" ?
