On the mailing list I time and time again have to explain to people
some basic debugging checks they can do to validate their installation
or configuration or steps to take to gather information to help debug
a problem.

I have started to accumulate a description of these in a special
document. It can now be found at:

  http://code.google.com/p/modwsgi/wiki/CheckingYourInstallation

I'll add more as I remember them or have to tell people special checks
to do. If you think of any that should go in there, let me know. Also
let me know if you think stuff in there is confusing or could do with
a better explanation.

Having done this, in future I will be referring people to that
document rather than explaining yet again what to do. This hopefully
will save me some time.

If you are one of the few who often step up to try and help, you might
scan the document as it may be helpful to you as well in that you can
refer people to it to check stuff.

Overall, I am going to try and make a concerted effort to try and
document stuff as it comes up. This will be to the extent that I may
not answer a question on the mailing list until I have documented it.
This means that replies to questions may well not be as quick as they
would have been in the past.
