What is suitable depends on the amount of traffic your site gets and for 
multithreading whether your code is even multi thread safe.

If you have no idea, leave out ‘processes=1’ as that is the default anyway and 
specifying it when not need has other subtle affects. Then specify threads=5, 
bring it down from default of 15.

Nope. Web2Py folks still as far as I know operate in a world of their own, so 
never seen anything.
