Hi Eric.

As has been said a servo will neither enhance your braking nor reduce squeal.

Cannot quite understand your comment 'WHEN I BRAKE LIGHT AT LOW SPEEDS AND THEREFORE HAVE LITTLE PRESSURE IN THE BRAKING SYSTEM". The standard non servo brakes have the same stopping ability regardless of what speed you are travelling at. There is no pressure in the braking system at any speed unless you press the brake pedal. Pressing the pedal actuates the hydraulic system, introducing the the pressure, and sending it to the brakes. You can easily alter the pressure and thus the braking by changing the pressure on the pedal. In fact the non servo brakes are far easier to apply and adjust than some of the modern systems with all their electronic aids. A car I used to run had great brakes, servo and ABS as all cars have to have, however it also had another system as well, brake assist, if this took over the car stood on its nose, a very fine point between full braking and this system coming in.

I suggest you try putting more pressure on the pedal after all if Morgans thought a servo was needed they would have fitted one on the production line.

Chas..

Hi David

I bought the car last year, so I do not know if the problem was there before the brakes were changed. I've had the brakes apart and the pistons in the cliperns works perfect. I have modified the brake pads as I described in my reply to Andy. (Please read this)  I have the problem when I brake light at low speeds, and therefore have a little pressure in the braking system, it is to avoid this that I will put a servo in.
Of course I can just press harder, but it's just not natural driving.

Thanks for your comments

Regards
Erik
