As for cleaning the car - I've found Demon Shine (available from Halfrauds) as the best product. Easy to apply (not too much elbow grease!) .... and it gives good results. On the maintenance front as well as the usual checks just remember to keep the front suspension greased regularly (every 1000 miles). Simple job once you have the knack. If you haven't done so already its worthwhile joining the MSCC and your local branch of the club where you'll find plenty of helpful advice from like-minded people and details of the various events and social activities.
