I used to go to watch at Gurston when I was a student in Salisbury in the 60's
and early 70's. There, and Curborough. It was a great thrill when I actually
got to take part in hillclimbs at Gurston a few years back. It is an excellent
organising club too.

Gurston and Wiscombe are both truly excellent hill climbs, but for very
different reasons. Spectating is much better at Gurston, in that there are
some places where you can see a great deal of the course, unlike Wiscombe,
where the views are much more restricted. Wiscombe is tight and twisty
through the trees, Gurston is a power hill, with a downhill start. The fast
boys are doing truly silly speeds through the sweeping left hander, (Ashes,
IIRC), knowing that the Karousel will wipe all their speed off before
Deer's Leap.

I did both hills many times in my motorcycle hill climb days, though I've
not done them in a car.
