Adrian, I'd love to meet up at Wiscombe, although I doubt I'll be down there
until the VSCC meeting next May. I try to get down for at least the weekend, as
it's such a way from home.
Which engine is fitted into 'Rosie'? I have the Zetec 1800 in my own car and
recently got my local garage to fit a pair of KENT cams. I love the way the car
drives now, very flexible, burbling through town at 1,500 revs or less, but
with a nice extra push at 4,000 plus. This all comes with no fuel penalty, I
got about 42mpg around France. The car was tested by the same garage and passed
all the MoT emmissions checks.
All the best, Gerry.

Hi Gerry
Looks like a very fast climb, with quick bends, thanks for the pics, you had
some great weather, I will try and make next year. Would be nice if you could
make Wiscombe, then we could have a chat and swap Morgan stories.
Ordered oil and plugs to service Rosie, and been reading up on a bit of tuning
and posed some questions to Techniques re ECU mapping.
Regards,
Adrian

Hi Adrian, I had a great day at Gurston Down. The course is rather
mis-represented on the home page http://www.gurstondown.org/ which makes it
look almost straight, apart from the severe kink around 'Karousel'. In fact,
off the line it is downhill until the start of 'Hollow Bend' (which is level)
and climbs steeply up around 'Karousel', 'Deer's Leap' and 'Ashes Bend' and
continues at a lesser gradient up past 'Burke's Rise'. It is very fast- the
more powerful cars can hit 130 just after the start and can be doing 150 over
the finish line. Spectators are able to see most of the course from the viewing
areas, there is a purpose built restaurant near the start, with indoor seating
and a patio area and there are good, permanent toilets. Thoroughly recommended.
Gerry.
the 'Mini' had a turbo-charged Mitsubishi Evo engine and the red single seater
had a V8, made up of the top ends of two Yamaha R1 engines on a custom made
bottom end- unfortunately it was proving too powerful for the current transaxle.

I'd love to be there Adrian- unfortunately it's a bit too far for me, as a day
trip. I have to agree with you about Wiscombe, it is a great venue and it looks
like the weather has finally taken a turn for the better.
I'm considering going to Gurston Down hillclimb tomorrow, west of Salisbury.
Not been there yet, so looking forward to spectating at a new course.
Gerry.
