The chip is a great aid to fuelling accurately, but it won't work at its best until you have a decent exhaust system and a better intake.
Before the exhaust/intake/chipping my car gave 161 bhp at 5,400 rpm and 171 lbs ft of Torque at 4800 rpm
After the work it gave 182 bhp at 5,300 rpm and 204 lbs ft of Torque at 3600 rpm
Pushing the torque down the rpm scale gave much improved driveability, and I found I do not need to drop a gear so often.
The fuel consumption is certainly no worse than before , BUT don't tell me you are not going to use the additional performance available.
Send me an email OG if you would like to talk this through in more detail.
Can anyone with experience of the Tornado chip for the V8 3.9 please advise me of the advantages and disadvantages of the this upgrade and what were the reasons for upgrading. I have read the information put out on various sites but would like to hear from others. If you would prefer to reply OG then thats OK with me. Thanks.
