Initial Comment:
OS: RedHat Linux AS 4
GCC: 3.4.6

1.setup:
CREATE TABLE A (a DATE);

2.execute:
INSERT INTO A VALUES (
  DATE '9999-01-01' + INTERVAL '1-00' YEAR TO MONTH);

3.result:
select * from A;
+------------+
| a          |
+============+
| 10000-01-0 |
: 1          |
+------------+

4.question:
"10000-01-01" is not a correct DATE.
