Hi,

monit CLI uses monit http interface for getting informations from the daemon.

You need to add following to monitrc (example):

set httpd port 2812
  allow localhost

Hey,

This is driving my nuts.

I have installed the monit under my Ubuntu. Changed the syntax checked it :
monit -t
Control file syntax OK

started monit
ps aux |grep monit
root 5052 0.0 0.2 4248 928 ? S Jul31 0:00 / usr/sbin/monit -d 180 -c /etc/monit/monitrc -s /var/lib/monit/ monit.state

and yet, when I am trying to see the status (or start/stop) or anthing else, I get this error:
# monit summary
monit: error connecting to the monit daemon

I am really desperate here, and I don't even know where to look for errors.
Can you guys help?
