I seem to be unable to correctly monitor the NTP service on RedHat 7x ,
(system)
My file is currently
cat /etc/monit.d/sendmailmonitor
check process sendmail with pidfile /var/run/sendmail.pid
start program = "/usr/bin/systemctl start sendmail.service"
stop program = "/usr/bin/systemctl stop sendmail.service"
I get the following error in the /var/log/monit.log
[BST Jun 9 11:52:30] error : 'ntpd' process is not running
[BST Jun 9 11:52:30] info : 'ntpd' trying to restart
[BST Jun 9 11:52:30] info : 'ntpd' start: /usr/bin/systemctl

output
What am I missing? the stop and start commands run from the cli
