c# program and output

Description of Problem:

For most things I'm seeing a 2-5x performance on an IA64 system over my Celeron
(which is about the cheapest thing money can buy)

However my Celeron stomps the IA64 system for a test mono program by 10-15x.
Can you please explain this or improve IA64 mono performance?

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Run the attached C# program on an x86 or x86_64 system
2. Run the attached C# program on an IA64 system

Actual Results:
Here are the run times I'm getting.

17-21 secs for int_sin.exe Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 215 @ 1.33GHz
(mono 2.4.2.3)
332 secs for int_sin.exe Itanium2 1.4 GHz (mono 2.4.2.3 - compiled from
source)
280 secs for int_sin.exe Itanium2 1.4 GHz (mono 1.2.2 - from SLES 10 SP3)

Expected Results:
Both Itanium2 runs should have been less that 17 secs.

How often does this happen?
Every time.

Additional Information:
See attached files.
