It could be argued that, since Mono is Open Source, it doesn't really
matter who owns it. On the other hand Microsoft has much more to gain
now by suing Novell for patent enfringment than it ever could have had
by suing Ximian.
How patent issues are solved in the U.S.: The lawyers of the two
companies meet and stack the company's patents on a desk. The firm with
the higher stack wins. Guess Novell's stack is much higher than Ximian's
stack, isn't it?
