Two things:

1) Using a gentoo package, I would suggest filling a bug at
http://bugzilla.gentoo.org first. We (the gentoo developers) appreciate this
as it might very well be a bug in our packaging. We (the mono developers)
also appreciate this because it allows us to spend time nailing down mono
bugs, not downstream packaging bugs.

2) As to the specifics of the actual problem, I am not 100% sure, but I
would make sure /usr/lib/System.dll exists first.
