Hi Sijmen,
I have been using the ByteFX.Data provider from sourceforge:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mysqlnet/
I have tested in windows 2000 (1.0 and 1.1 FW) and in linux (Mandrake 9.1) with mono. I have had good success in windows and a bug or two in mono/linux up to this point. As far as I know, this is the best open source provider for mysql.
