Hi All,
I've been running some Mono vs .Net benchmark tests for a while now. The
tests are simple, have two identical boxes, one running Windows Server 2003 and
the other Redhat Fedora Core 6. Deploy a VB.Net Webservice (Compiled in VS2005)
which accepts a Data Provider name, Connection String and a SQL Query. The
webservice will then connect to the database using the given Data Provider,
Connection string and run the SQL Query. It also has an option to execute x
amount of iterations and report the times.
I've been using the System.Data.SqlClient as well as a MySql.Data.MySqlClient
(version 5.0.7).
Both tests ran significantly slower when compared from 1.2.3.50 to 1.2.4. Are
there any new configuration settings I am missing? Can anyone recommend a
profiler to use for debug purposes so that I can identify where the bottleneck
is?
I'm using a Apache / Mod Mono configuration. Thoughts / Ideas appreciated.
Regards,
Chee Keong, Chan
