I am very excited about this excellent effort to
port the .NET Framework, however something is puzzling me. Why
are there extra things in the implementation? It seems to be a
self defeating mechanism. Let�s say I write a program on a Linux
machine using your framework and it runs perfectly. I think
attempt to run it on a Windows machine and oh crap, I made use
of a mono-only feature! I believe the System hierarchy should
remain unmodified by your implementation to guarantee perfect
cross-platform operation.
We try to keep things compatible.
Where did you get a different impression from?
