In a moment of clarity :p I realized that I could just comment out the cvs lines from the install script and it would work on the snapshot. So I was finally able to build from the sources, nice.
One last, hopefully not too stupid, question. I can't seem to find a configure flag to force a release build. Is there one? Still new to this automake stuff, and I can't figure out where the cflags values are coming from.
