After have a more detailed look at the code I think I will start with writing unit Tests for System.XML.XSL (as far as I can tell, none exists yet).

This way I can get to know C# better + I will be using the XSL API & gaining information on what it should do (this should help me understand what to implement).

After that I should be able to start working on the missing XSL items.
