Hi Alec,

I use Parallels Desktop 7. The VM itself is Windows Server 2008 R2, though
I also tried with Win8 and Win2012 - the slowdown was pretty unacceptable.

The MBP has 8Gb RAM, 2.5GHz Core i7 and a Radeon HD 6770M with 1Gb of RAM
(2011 MBP) so I thought it should be ok.

I use my Mac for everything... Only develop on Windows if I have to.

Maybe VMWare Fusion is a better choice than Parallels.

Regards,

James Darbyshire
