Finally tested the 150 jib today. Seems to fly well, but I think I need a
leech cord, as the leech flutters a bit when close hauled. I also need to
install some tell-tails so I know what's going on.
Also, even though I have an 8" pennant on the tack and a swept-up clew,
visibility when heeled over is the pits. Maybe a window is called for. One
of the areas where I sail is VERY crowded with other pleasure craft, a
constant stream of large ferries, tugs with barges, and the occasional
freighter. Not a good place to be blind! My usual sailing area, the one I
usually have all to myself :), has been blowing gale force winds all week.
It's the first time I've ever worked with a genoa, and I find the sheet
traveller position quite critical on different points of sail. But she moves
along like an express train ... 5.3 Kts on the GPS. All in all I'm happy
with the new addition to my sail inventory.
