Al,
I have often thought about what would happen it my centerboard
pennant broke. Were you able to get the boat on the trailer by using
the trailer winch only with the center board retracting as the boat
moved onto the trailer? Did the line break with the centerboard in
the up or down position. I've wondered if the stop pin at the end of
the keel would hold the weight of the board dropped from the
retracted position. It's something that I hope never happens on our
boat but it's always a possibility.
Mike
Tod,
If interested I added a few pictures to my projects album showing our
solution for keeping the instruments inside when not needed or
outside when needed. The installation satisfied my reluctance to cut
a hole in the cockpit fiberglass. However I had nightmares before
working up the courage to drill a hole below waterline for the
transducer.
