yeah, google groups isn't my absolute favorite either, when it comes to normal "talking..." for discussions what have been updated in a file on github or about general strategic discussions it's perfect... (those are things most of the community members don't really need to know...) > 2) a forum is essential for the community, there are plenty stable and > free boards yeah exactly... and that don't seem to be the problem.. it's about the moderation, it's about the work they had for maintaining the forum.. a work that prevented them from doing what they should do (working on mootools...) so they said someone else should do it -> and there we are: use google group if you need support for questions that need "real" core developer help.. this should be really quite hard questions. for everything else - questions that the community can solve on their own use mooforum.net (that's how I do it... of course you don't need to do it that way... that's just my personal way...) > 3) the website should clearly state about all the links we have been > told in the groups chat, i think there are hundrets of ppl who do not > know where to find the spread information Yeah so maybe you could gather all those information and write something about it her or/and on mooforum. > 4) in former times we used one page to find all our needs, now it is > lighthouse, git, personal homepages etc, thats poison for everyone do you really need lighthouse? if you have a mootools core bug you maybe need it... (I mostly don't need it) git - do you need the latest version? or the latest stable version? (I use the latest stable version...) personal homepages... hell yeah be happy that people who really know how to use mootools - blog about their ideas/solutions I believe that for the "common" mootools user it's important to know how to use it... so see examples, docs, google group, mooforum.... > 5) i dont like the new online demos, in former times it was easier to > get information, now it requires downloads and offline things... hmmm, same here but it doesn't help to just complain - do something about it... I tried something at http://demos.mooforum.net In the end I just want to say... these are my personal thoughts... if you don't like it so be it don't hate me for it...
