I am only making assumptions here. I think the reason why Valerio decided to
hold off until 1.2.1 is because of the maturity of the code. While 1.2 is
stable, it was a dramatic change to the framework from 1.1. It was a major
update. Being that so much changed there are a few issues. By waiting until
1.2.1 it minimizes the risk of more support issues and removes confusion
when 1.2.1 is made live.
