After hours of playing around with the code above, I still couldn't get it to work - sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't - IE 8 shows an "Access denied error" once in a while - the request object gets properly created - it fails when trying to start the request with this.jsonRequest.startTimer(this.params);
I've no idea what else to try and what could cause this issue - what seems to help sometimes is to empty the cache of my CMS?!
