This is not developers problem, this is user's problem. If user interested in mootools development, he can join #mootools IRC chanel on irc.freenode.net, he can follow mootools developers on github (user doesn't know mootools developers ? damn, there is good page on mootools site http://mootools.net/developers , enjoy), then he will be "on right course", "always up to date" in mootools development process > Your solution for this average developer's problem: > a) ask for dev list invite (how would he know there is a dev list?) > b) chat with Christoph on IRC (what? Who's Christoph? Why would he > distract Christoph with his unprecise questions?) a) if user's ideas, user's work (fixes, plugins, specs, translations etc) will be interesting for mootools development, user will get invitation b) If user don't know who is Christoph, what the questions then ? ( see http://mootools.net/developers , see mootools history (commits) on github, there is a lot of Christoph (cpojer ping :)) ) > There is also a language barrier. But writing English and > communicating is a whole another thing and it is much harder. Learn that f.. Globish I'm sure that I'm writing with errors (my English (Globish ?) is bad, yea), but who cares ? ppl understand me > You said that communication is the easiest way to get involved. But > there are a lot of people who don't know if they want to get involved > because they don't know what are they going to be involved in. And again, go to the mootools' github repo, there is the wiki If user interested to be helpful for mootools project, he can read that wiki and start work If user doesn't know about anything (repos, etc), he can write a reply to one of mootools devs on twitter (twitters are on, again, http://mootools.net/developers ) Who seek, shall find > I don't see how distracting users' behaviour that Aaron mentioned is > related to private/public dev list question now. There is a list for > mootools users and it is clear for everyone that help should be > obtained here. If somebody will ask help on dev list it is easy to > point that help should be obtained on mootools-users list. When user's post on this list is interesting for mootools developes, they can send that post to dev list (that post will be in both lists, see pic: http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/4439/blured.jpg )
