Hey Gang,

I agree with Claude. Ebay is an incredible venue for selling and buying. I ship 20 times the frames I shipped before ebay when I advertised primarily with Movie Collector World. Even though I sell the frames at wholesale cost, I am building an incredible database when I decide to begin selling my posters again.  Now you see the method to my madness.  I am able to use that database now for new product designs and other framing venues I am into (people don't just frame movie posters).

I have bought some incredible pieces for my own collection through ebay, often for incredibly low prices. Their system could definitely benefit from changes, but the bottom line is that they figure the money keeps rolling in, it works fine for now, why mess with it and spend a dime.

I totally understand Bruce's frustrations. While I only have one negative feedback, it was totally unwarranted. The guy called me four times in advance to ask about my frames, said he had been paying 5 times what I was charging, bid on the frames, asked for an extension to pay for them due to a sudden illness of his wife's, then never paid. Though, I sent many emails and saw that he was bidding on other items, he never again responded to me. This was before I did the "buy it now" with my frames and he outbid someone else to take the auction. Then never paid. When I left him negative feedback, within hours, he left me a negative that was just a plain lie, saying that I way overcharged for the frames. When I contacted ebay getting that removed, of course you know what I was told. It is frustrating that people can write anything they want. Right here on our group, we have had members that were called "filthy names" in a feedback from some jerk and there is nothing they can do about it.  Most of you that know me know that I try my best to offer a great product for a great price. I go above and beyond. You know why, because that's how I want to be treated.  I know Bruce is the same way.  For me, it is just my personality that a million people can say what a wonderful job you're doing, but it's that one jerk that sticks with you. Everytime I logged into my feedback area and see the number 1, it bugs me. That's life.

Now,  if I could just figure out a way to get every movie poster collector in the world over to MoPobid.  JR and Ed are doing a great job and the incentives are wonderful. I began listing there a few weeks ago and plan to upload other frame styles and sizes this weekend. So, there you go. Have a great day everyone.

11 negatives out of 88,615 and now you have a "real worry" that you may get some more negatives.  You can get over 800 negatives and still have 99 per cent positive.

Ebay is fantastic.  Without it you would not have sold anywhere near the dollar volume that you do today.  Movie Collectors World, shows, live auctions and your mail/telephone auctions could never approach your current total success.

I (and everyone else) could never have achieved the fantastic collection in my possession.  Ebay has opened the world to my home.

Does ebay have flaws?  Absolutely.  their public relations is terrible, they are autocratic, they cannot be reached, they allow people to be cheated without giving sufficient support and help and we all know the feedback system is flawed.

However, the time has come to stop bashing ebay and be thankful it exists.  You have to work within the system.  You have to be extra careful from whom you buy, etc., etc., etc.  I have many ideas of how to improve the system but would be wasting my time writing them because they all cost money.  Ebay will not do any of these things because it affects their bottom line.  So take it for what it is worth and be thankful ebay is here.   I love it.  Claude
