Yeah John,
I think any of us who have sold movie items on eBay has run into this
type of buyer. They are almost always someone with less than a 5 feedback.
I must say that I have been without one of these buyers in close to a year
now (knock on wood) but used to get them constantly. I would get that
email from them 'Oh, I am so glad I saw your auction. I have been looking
for that video everywhere'. Then you have to reply that they are 'still
looking'. Even one buyer got kind of snotty and told me 'Of course I was
looking for a video, who would be looking for anything else. No one wants
posters and pictures from a film'. The poor man needed to come out of his
dark video room and step out into the world that he seems to be missing. I
am glad you included a link to the auction. I can see how you tried to
deceive this unknowing buyer..... forget the long poster description, the
huge picture of the lobby card and the fact it was in the movie memorabilia
lobby card category..... you did not put the words "This is Not a Video"
in your text. It is a shame that many sellers have actually had to include
this in their description. Of course my feeling is if they could not bother
to read any of the other text what chance will they read this. I was happy
when I finally sold through my Laserdisc collection since I had so many
people either bidding thinking they were dvds. I am afraid to find out what
will happen when I finally part with my 8 Track tapes. Buyers born less
than 20 years ago won't have a clue...... Good luck to all with their
auctions..... mine are in the toilet right now. Rick
