Just so you know - I just had my Paypal account frozen for 12 days because I made payments for over 50 auctions in one day.  I didn't want people to have to wait for their money any longer than necessary, so I spent a lot of time paying auctions.  Paypal thought this was "unusual activity" so they put a Hold on my account and CANCELLED all 50+ payments.  Well, sellers of course went nuts trying to figure out what was going on.  And so did I!  All of the payments had been "Instant Transfers" from my bank account to the seller through Paypal.  But did Paypal return the money to my bank account? Oh, no!  They held it in my Paypal account for 12 days--over $1,400.  If they did that with 1,000 of their accounts, that would be a tidy sum for them even in these days of lousy interest rates.  I emailed continually for 8 days--I called internationally several times and once spoke to a nice young! man who was sympathetic but not empowered to do anything to help me other than put some information in my computer record.  Finally after 12 days, they released the Hold on my account--after I resonded to a form letter of theirs that had a "secret number" in it that only I would know.  When they cancelled the payments, they sent an email to the seller saying that the payment may have been made with "fraudulent funds".  Sellers were emailing me  calling me crook, thief, deadbeat, and names I can't repeat here.  One woman said she thought she had stumbled into some kind of money-laundering ring via eBay.  I have received some negative feedback, and when I emailed Paypal and told them they should contact eBay and tell them it was Paypal's fault and the negatives should be removed from my record, I received an email from Paypal saying they have nothing to do with eBay and I would have to contact them directly.  I emailed back and said you bot! h are owned by the same corporation--don't tell me you have nothing to do with each other.  Just another day in the life of eBay and Paypal.  What a rip-opff.  Thanks for letting me vent, Judi
