First off eBay plans to charge the sellers out the ass and then require
everyone to take paypal so they can charge out the ass again. Then they
will remove all the categories and just place everything top level
labeled STUFF and it will be up to you to enter the correct search
criteria for starters

I agree. I have only known about Craigslist for a couple of months and
wish I had found it sooner. Some things should be left alone.

Have you heard anything on how they will change it?

Duane

It is with great sadness that I announce EBAY's acquisition of 25% of
www.craigslist.com. In case you don't know craigslist, it is a virtual
community bulletin board that has been in operation in major cities
throughout the world. It offers free personal listings, free for sale
listings, free job postings, rants and raves, political discussions,
etc. The idea of craigslist is that it is a non-commercial, community
based website that brings the virtual community together with little or
no cost. There is minimal advertising, if any, and the site has a
"plain jane" look that really has the feel of a community bulletin
board. An example would be that if you have a pair of tickets for a
concert and can't use them, you sell them for cost on craigslist.com and
someone in the community gets to go for face value or less. It has
never been about profit but has always been about communication. Now
that the monster internet company EBAY has bitten into the pie, I can
safely say that the days of craigslist as we know it are soon to be
finished.

Very sad indeed, Channing Thomson in San Francisco
