It's been awhile for this topic.
I've got some interesting information, not about the possibly/probably? fake lobby cards though.
on movie poster talk The Tall Man said:
"Moviegoods.com lists the NSS number for HALLOWEEN as: 78-736"
well welll well! I can confirm this!
I just received in a blue ratings box halloween one sheet (pretty beat up by the way), no nss info on bottom (typical) just the GAU logo.
However! Stamped on the back in big blue 1" block letters...... 78-736
also stamped "property of consolidated theatre services don mills ontario calgary alberta"
very very interesting.
It is believed that the Halloween posters that lack the NSS info. are from the the first year in '78 since NSS did not distribute the film the first time around. Those posters that have an NSS paragraph on the bottom are believed to be from later releases from 1979 and on. Right? O.k.? So why would this particular poster be stamped by someone with what appears to be an NSS number on the back. It doesn't say NSS anywhere....just that number 78-736.
My guess is that this poster was used for the first release, returned, and then stamped 78-736 for when it was re released.
what do you all think?
