I actually spoke with someone from eBay a couple of days ago and that is a very rare thing. We talked about selling in general on eBay and I raised the issue of non paying bidders. The eBay rep told me that their records showed that I have about 5% non payers. I sometimes don't file non paying bidder alerts so the actual number of non paying bidders that I get is probably a little higher than 5%.
Recent emails from Bruce and Helmut indicate that Identity theft might be on the rise. It seems that there are some who are trying to sabotage eBay or sellers in general with bulk purchases that they have no intention of paying for. It really does seem crazy that ebay will not refund the listing fees where there are non paying bidders especially in cases where bidders go on the rampage with literally hundreds of "buyitnows" with no intention of paying. Its about time eBay changed their policy and refunded the listing fees when there are non paying bidders.
