With all due respect...
Why do they "have to wait 3 days"
-Because it's in the "rules"
Who wrote the rules?
-eBay did!

With more of that due respect...
The problem is obvious.
-In "a few hours" one of these "hijackers" committed a series
of "buy-it-nows" that can only be described as serial-bidding.
By the time eBay posts on some friggin bulletin board?
The serial bidder had ended thousands & thousands of auctions.
What does eBay do AFTER realizing it's fraud & posting on a
bulletin board? According to you... they "wait 3 days"
Meanwhile serial bidder bought himself a Boeing 747...
Unfortunately for Martha Stewart (the seller)...
Serial Bozo is temporarily embarassed (a dead-beat).

Look Helmut...
I read your posts all the time.
You are a decent guy...
It's just this little "eBay tick" that a few of you guys have.
Some of you are eBay sellers, others are (admitted stockholders)...
I guess what I'm saying is this...
THE EMPEROR HAS NO FRIGGIN CLOTHES!

EBAY STINKS!
Why do they stink?
Because they mismanaged themselves into the all to common position of
many other large publicly-traded companies...
They allowed the corporate political landscape to shift away from long-term
quality products/services... (ie long-term economic health)...
and in the direction of profits at any cost (ie short term gain).

In my opinion eBay has the most bone-headed track-record in history
when it comes to "hijackers"
First they let the stockholders "hijack" the keys to the front doors
of eBay itself!
Now they have a "we wait 3 days after someone's account is "hijacked"
before doing anything policy!

I have to wonder...
How long do you think this pinhead 3-day hijacking policy would stand
if it cost eBay (and those unreasonably empowered stockholders)
$20each each of those 18,000 serial buy-it-nows...
INSTEAD OF the friggin seller getting screwed?

Consider this...
I have been designing websites for 8 days...
I saw my very 1st web-page architecture program only one week ago...
If I... a total shmoe... can figure out eBay's buy-it-now solution...
Why can't they?
Isn't it more likely they "choose to drag their two left feet"?

What's the solution?
Why don't they add a simple "human recognition screen" immediately
after you press "buy it now"
But BEFORE you can "CONFIRM"
You know... One of those little boxes with the squiggly numbers &
letters that a computer/robot can't resolve?
This would make these "serial bidders" manually enter every auction.
This would of course GREATLY reduce the impact of their STUPID
& ARBITRARY 3 day reign-of-terror policy...
Based upon eBay's cumbersome/sluggish systems?
I figure the tally would drop from roughly 18,000 screwed up auctions...
to maybe 5 or 6

Lastly...
Until eBay scraps their feedback system, implements a human review step
on all negatives, ends the 3 day wait on reigns-of-terror, ends the policy
of not refunding seller's listing fees for serial hijackings, implements a
"human recognition" screen during the buy-it-now function, and starts
looking at long-term quality service, rather than short-term stockholder
politics...

Helmut...
Get with the program...
Repeat-after-me...
EBAY STINKS!

Still having doubts?

OK...
I didn't want to have to mention this, but...
I just read about a brand-new "my eBay page" enhancement on
version V.4.2 that goes into effect the day ALL SUB CATEGORIES
ARE ENDED IN POSTERS...
What is this enhancement?
Whenever you lose an auction, are outbid, or enter an invalid bid at the
end of an auction due to being outbid by another bidder...
Your computer passes gas (farts at you)...
I know... you turn down your audio, right?
No good...
eBay engineers have developed an animated fart.
The stockholders are going to love this...
However, I repeat...
EBAY STINKS!
