Title: Re: [MOPO] Incredible Shrinking Man OS on linen for $9
Yes, exactly, this piece for whatever reason seems to go for around $500 at auction.  The poster doesn't seem to generate as much interest as many of Brown's other pieces, despite it being for one of the most thoughtful and technically proficient of the 50s sci-fi films.  It's one of my favorites, and I would like to acquire this poster at some point.  In fact I would have taken this one when he was offering it at $600, except that I wanted to use paypal for this particular purchase, and he doesn't accept it.  And then when he offered it again at a higher price; well, from then on it was just humorous.

I was under the impression that the SHRINKING MAN 1 sheet was selling more in the $500 range. Even factoring in the recent upswing in 50s horror/sci-fi prices, I doubt if this guy's going to get any takers at a grand. While one doesn't see this poster as often as some other popular titles, I wouldn't call it a really rare piece either. (Great image though!!!)

Interesting. I missed the other times it was offered because I don't frequent eBay all that much anymore (naturally I prefer MoviePosterBid.com...) but I thought that $999 was a "reasonable" starting bid -- and yet you say it has been listed for lower than that and still no takers? Odd, I would have guessed that with the current inflation in classic '50s and '60s sci-fi posters that this item on linen, even with a couple of minor spots would easily fetch at least a grand, perhaps significantly more. Any dealers out there care to suggest what sort of price range this one sheet should go for? It can't be all that common.

Actually, you do see this everyday.  He's listed this piece repeatedly over the last 6 months at least, every time with a higher starting bid than the last.  A friend and I have been laughing about it.  He probably would have sold it long before now if it didn't have some uncorrected defects despite being backed, and if he took paypal. (The poster and seller are legit, though.)

Now Here's something you don't see everyday... looks genuine (I think? maybe?) with a very reasonable starting bid. Anyone know anything about the seller? (ebay ID is "l.a.curry")
