Since I pay strictly from my bank account (cash transferred from my account to seller's Paypal account), I use only that account.  When a seller insists on an echeck, Paypal still takes the money from my checking account but holds it for 4 days to be sure it has cleared my bank account.  Then Paypal insisted on a credit card back-up.  So they have 2 sources: my checking account and a credit card.  However, the default seems to switch back and forth at will.  I have never understood it.  Happy winter days to all,  Judi
