There's a difference between simplistic and simple. Not that
I used either word to describe this year's Oscar poster. I
said it wasn't inspired. It seems very ordinary; very run of the
mill. Nothing to get fired up about. Nothing spectacular. The
sort of thing almost any graphics person would come up with
as a first idea.

Macs are good machines. I'm not saying they aren't.
They're particularly good with art programs. And anyone
who thinks a Mac would be better for them should get one.
But sometimes Mac users are like Amway salesman or
Seventh Day Adventists. They seek you out, whether or not
you're interested in a Mac/cleaning products/God, and
insist you hear all the wonders of their favorite. I don't need
anyone telling me what religion to follow, nor do I want to be
bothered by people telling me how much they love their
computer.
I sometimes think there's a gel Apple puts on the keyboards,
to draw people in and turn them into mindless slaves. "You
will bring other people to Mac... You will bring other people
to Mac..." It's sometimes seems like a cult. (And, hey, say
something bad about a Mac and see what kind of response
you get... )
