Hi Shelly,

That was Natalie on MoPo, not me - Nathalie.

Hi Nathalie

No, I'm afraid to say this isn't just you, my partner sells via eBay
and has
only recently received a similar payment notification where the buyer
put in
a ridiculous figure of $1 for shipment charges from the UK to the USA.
Despite the fact that the eBay template and all correspondence stated
very
clearly what the shipment options and costs were.

All that seemed to have been ignored.

It's amazing how many buyers do not read the instructions and when
they are
'reminded' again about the shipment costs, they behave as if the
seller is
being underhand or asking for the moon on a stick.

It's enough to make you want to tear your hair out at times.

As an added note, it is suprising how often this happens with those
who pay
under $15 for their pieces while the buyers of more expensive items,
rarely
quibble and pay quickly and politely.

Persevere, but my advice is to be firm.

Shelly

Or is it just me?

People make up their own postage costs (often drastically underfunded),
and send me Paypal payments. They never email beforehand, I just get a
payment notification email, saying that <insert name here> has sent me x
amount of dollars. I even had one claim that she emails asking for
postage costs and people never get back to her, and that's why she does
it. In all my time on ebay, that has never been a problem.

Even worse are the Australian bidders sending me PP payments, I live on
a tiny budget, I NEED those Aussie payments in my bank account so I can
send those auction wins out. Even had one send me PP AFTER I sent her my
end of auction email, giving her totals in Australian dollars and the
appropriate acceptable payment methods. I'm not inflexible on this issue
either, many want direct deposits in two days after the auction, I say 7
days is preferred (it's only after 14 I get a bit narky) and you can pay
by any method you like.

My auctions are not always fully detailed with T&C, because most of the
time I only list when listing is free or very cheap, and they are often
a rush job, but I DO answer emails promptly (most of the time).

Am I doing something wrong? I know I should draft up some T&C, but I
just never get around to it. I wouldn't even be listing in summer if it
wasn't for the specials on listing.

Natalie
