MOPOers know me as a seldom poster...usually with WTB posts. I rarely comment on people in this hobby, but I have to comment about the passing of Louis.
This saddens me deeply. In a way, I don't fully understand why. We only corresponded or spoke a dozen or so times during my 12-15 years of collecting. We weren't particularly close, but I think that may be why I feel such a loss. Louis seemed to make every conversation about posters feel like an important one. He seemed to really care about the posters we discussed...and that they were posters I cared about. In my dealings with him, he was simply a very nice man and true gentleman in the hobby. (And we all know there are some in this hobby who may not be classified as a "gentleman" after their passing.)
I will miss Louis and, more importantly, I think our hobby will miss Louis.

I haven't seen any posts on MOPO about long time collector Louis Leithold's passing.
I just wanted to say that he was a real nice guy who really, really loved posters.
He had quite a collection and was kind enough to show me his walls. Of which there were plenty with a plethora of posters. It was an amazing site to behold.
All genres and sizes. He was especially proud of the beauty they offered.
He was a true gent as far as I could tell and will be sorely missed.
