oh yeah folks, .... it just gets cooler everyday I got to see that film "Radiant" that independent film maker Steve Mahone directed.. It was an excellent sci-fi flick. I suggest it to anyone if/when it gets released in whatever format. I think it would most likely turn up on HBO in the 1am slot or something like that as it is an art house film
afterwards I met the entire cast with whom I was an instant hit when they found out I did the poster display. (It's nice to a be a hit with those who want to hits themselves), and then I sat and spoke with Steve for about a half hour at last night's Viva Las Vegas party. He wanted my sincere critique of his movie & thought I was right on when I made some comments and even suggestions. Then we spoke about comic heroes, John Ford, Roman Polanski & other directors. at the Viva Las Vegas party which followed a screening of the movie Ann-Margret, Tony Curtis, Louis Prima, Dennis Hopper & others got on stage & Prima's daughter sang some of his songs. She sounded just like Keely Smith! The night before there was a screening of King of New York where Chris Walken got an award & then Walken, Joe Pesci, Hopper & Larry Fishbourne were interviewed on stage for 30 mins about Abel Ferrara (the director) and other funny film anecdotes I was also somewhat surprised last night. I had watched Viva Las Vegas on tape about a month ago & was surprised how I was only slightly impressed with the movie. But when I saw it on the big screen yesterday it had a totally different feel and I liked it much more. Tonight Nick Cage & some other yet unknown actors will have an award & interview session before a screening of Leaving Las Vegas so I'll be there tonight.... it's really cool that even when the show is sold out, all I have to do is go to the ticket manager & she walks me in puts me in a seat, so I know when Romero's Land of the Dead get it's world premiere saturday night I won't have any problem getting in to see it. to see the CINE-VEGAS Film Festival Report #1 go to http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg06327.html Rich====================== Visit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at www.filmfan.com ___________________________________________________________________ How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List Send a message addressed to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] In the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L The author of this message is solely responsible for its content.
