I'd say it'd be pretty darn easy.  If you look at the folds on the "original" that's for sale the vertical is off-center, much like could happen if it was folded by hand and not by machine.
 
If you compare it to the one from the Heritage auction it's definitely missing a lot.  Seems like it's taken from within the registration marks (conveniently) leaving off the copyright info.  Methinks even a "foreign" poster would have a copyright notice, even if it is 'Merican.

He states that it is trimmed to 26 x 39" because that is the size used for overseas release.  That is not true.  I have had this poster before and it definitely measures 27 x 41".  Furthermore, there have been many Italian reprints of classic posters, which generally measure 26 x 39".  How hard would it be to take one of those 10 euro reprints, fold it, and then say that this is a very very rare original????
