Well, fine. Many of us said we disagreed: Tarantino *isn't* a great director. Interesting and talented but not great. The number of films isn't why he isn't great. It's that he's all flash (and big mouth).
You keep pointing to The Hulk to prove Ang Lee isn't a great director. I'm not sure if I'd include him as a great director (though I think he's better than Tarantino) but just because a director has one stinker in his past (or even a few) doesn't mean they aren't great. I'm sure we can each find at least one rotting fish amongst the oeuvres of every one of the directors you listed. Spielberg has Hook. Scorsese has Boxcar Bertha or New York, New York. Et cetera. What makes a director great is hard to define but one or two "misses" isn't -- or shouldn't be -- the deciding factor. Craig.
