Nathalie and Susan, ENOUGH! ;) I love James
Bond and never miss a Bond-a-thon. As you know from style-b, that's when
I'm MIA from the lists. Love the gadgets, the cars (man, those cars rock!)
and usually love Bond. The women don't do much for me, but the scores are
pretty great.
Really, ladies. Never mock Bond, James Bond, to me
again!!!

and the posters but loved the music?
Hello Nathalie and all,
Funny but when you first asked the question, James Bond
movies were the first thing that jumped into my head. However, I do like the
original Connery Bond's. Goldfinger and Thunderball are nice posters.
Unfortunately, Dr. No is an awful poster. The red four panel poster from From
Russia with Love is o.k. Actually the foreign movie posters on the early Bond
films are really nice and I dont normally collect foreign posters. Fantasia
was an interesting choice also. I didn't like it the first time I saw it, but
as I have gotten older and appreciate classical music much more, I do like
Fantasia. However, the poster still leaves a bit to be desired. (By the way it
is now hailing outside my office window here in beautiful southern
California)! The spaghetti westerns are a good example. The music is generally
great, but it really takes me awhile to get into the film.
This is a fun question and one we might follow it up
with is a great movie that has a crappy poster. To Kill a Mockingbird is one
that I wish they had spent a bit more time thinking about the poster. It's
such a beautiful film and such a lousy poster.
Anyway, good topic Nathalie............take care everyone.
Sue

Sorry, I opened up this topic but didn't tell you my thoughts
on it.
I don't like James Bond movies or the poster art. And -
yes - I realize I'm probably in the minority here, but their mix of
adventure (sexual and otherwise), intrigue and gadgets really doesn't
appeal to me. The poster art, in my view, is just more of the
same. Perhaps, in general, men like these movies more than
women? I don't know.
But the music is something else
again! The From Russia With Love theme is one of the best, most
memorable movie theme songs. And the same with
Goldfinger.
It's interesting that Steve chose Fantasia as one of his
picks. I don't hate this movie but how could it even begin to
measure up to its soundtrack?
What does everyone else feel about
this?
Nathalie
