Phillip:
I managed to score the I WAS A TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN one sheet, which I
got for a pretty reasonable price, even with the buyer's premium.
Heritage's shipping is quite reasonable as well, $11.00 on this item. I
think the bidding stayed relatively low on this piece because it was the
international version, released overseas by MGM. However, it was printed
from exactly the same plates, the same year, as the original. happy to
have this iconic image in the one sheet format again.
I bid on 5 or 6 items, but got killed on everything else . There are
some very deep pockets out there....
Congratulations on winning the BLACK FRIDAY one sheet. Beautiful
poster, one of the last great horror one sheets from Universal, and an
historic next-to-final pairing for Karloff & Lugosi.
Hadn't heard anything about Ron Borst selling off his collection,
and I'm a little surprised to hear he's considering doing it. He and
Todd Feiertag (and the late Dennis Thomas) have the most extensive
collections of primo horror material of anyone in the known universe. It
would certainly be one hell of an auction. I don't know...I know you
"can't take it with you", but I'd like to hold onto mine it until the
last possible moment. Of course, selling MY modest little collection
would probably net me the price of a used Toyota Corolla, as opposed to
the Elephant Bucks a stash like Ron's could net. Perhaps I'd feel
differently if I knew I could buy a house in the Bahamas after cashing
out my paper pile....

Fist of all, Grey Congratulations to another amazing auction. I was
bidding on perhaps seven lots but only won one single lot. The "Black
Friday" one sheet with Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi is NOW mine. I
think it is the best Karloff and Lugosi poster ever. The colors and
images are just incredible. I am on cloud seven, just incredible
feeling. As you can imagine, I do collect one sheets for Karloff and
Lugosi as well. If someone is planning to sell any Karloff one sheets,
please let me know. In addition, I am looking for any release year
Dante's Inferno, Hotel Imperial, early Jungle, early Hotel one sheet
posters, Pola Negri only one sheet posters. Oops, I almost forgot some
Lewton one sheets as well. I DO PAY above market price. By the way, I
am also looking for a one sheet Rear Window and style B Rear Window.
Who else got something at the Heritage auction? Unfortunately, I did
not win anything this time around at the Chirstie's auction this time.
By the way, is this really true? I heard that Ron Borst is selling
most of his collection?
Your fellow poster nut and forever poster collector since over 20 years.
