As I've said before, the real problem is that now so many repros are in
the poster collecting/selling food chain, differentiating the real from
the not real is going to get harder.
Know your sellers is the key to collecting now.

You'd think. But, current content suggests otherwise. Plenty of death -- not
so much full frontal nudity.
There is even a tiny win for Tom in there -- where the cable company had to
revise its policy towards banning repeated submitters of obscene content. As
for if the cable company is required to shows Tom's program, thats not so clear
-- had the program not been obscene, I suspect that they may have been required
to show it -- I thinks thats part of their obligation to the community (having
been granted a monopoly). They have other responsibilities -- such as carrying
the local broadcast channels.
This is not so much an issue these days with high speed internet connections
and satalite TV and netflix and access to just about anything -- all this
within 10 years! -- I cannot wait for the next ten.
As for the reprints. I think that this is just a harbinger of things to come.
Nearly every modern poster worth owning has been reproduced -- granted some
better than others. If the quality of the reproduction has really gotton so
that we need to look at cleavage (or lukes belt) with a magnifying glass, then
perhaps we really should ask ourselves why we are collecting? Is it for the
art work? Is it the investment? Is it obsession? I do not condone his
actions -- I just think its going to get much worse before it gets better
(consider when all the current owner of these thousands of reprint get around
to listing them on eBay).
What will happen to the hobby when someone starts reproducing classic images which are indistinguishible from the originals?

Evan.. I would hope everyone on the planet would think violence is
more offensive than sex. Especially considering many of us do not
believe sex is offensive
I will say, that while Tom was wrong in both situations (he doesn't
have any particular right to force a cable company to show his
program, and that he doesn't sell reprints), it is interesting that
he will put his money where his mouth is

Yes, but its a wonderful read!
Among other things it indicates that he feels that its more
offensivie to have violence on TV than sex.
Not to mention that he willing to fight againt a cable giant for
what he feels strongly.

The lawsuit he filed 8 years ago had NOTHING to do with
movie posters or eBay.
True, at least not directly. And I wasn't implying that the fact that he
filed it puts anyone here at particular risk for being named in another
one. But the facts of that old case do tell you something about the
personality of the person you're dealing with.
