The Mail Archive isn't perfect so it's possible a posting may not make it
there. The Mail Archive is subscribed to MoPo just like any subscriber, so
therefore subject to the flaws in the e-mail system.

Internet quirks, down servers, etc. can cause an e-mail to bounce. If that
happens, the Mail Archive just doesn't receive and record that message. It
can show up later, if the down server retries sending when it begins
operating again, but this usually doesn't happen.

It's interesting when I went to check the contents of the Archive just now,
the most recent post showing there had not yet shown up in my personal
inbox. Again, demonstrating the ups and downs of e-mail delivery. Usually
the Mail Archive is a bit slower than delivery to personal e-mail accounts.

All messages sent out my the listserv can be retrieved by manually
requesting them. It's a little cumbersome to do this, but it can be done.

You send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

In the BODY type: INDEX MOPO-L. The listserv then sends you a log list. You
can choose which ones you want and send the command: GET MOPO-L LOGxxx (xxx
is the desired log) to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] address. Like I
said, it's a pain but if you feel you did miss something important it's a
way to retrieve the missing post.

Subject: [MOPO] A question about the filmfan website

I do not get the MoPo e-mails, because I already get hundreds of e-mails a
day. Instead I have been going to the filmfan website and clicking on the
page of e-mails there. Lately I notice that it seems like only a few of the
e-mails sent make it to the website (this is easy to tell, because often
e-mails on the site reference an earlier e-mail that is not there.

Is this temporary? Or has it always been like that? Do the "missing"
e-mails show up at a later date, or are they gone forever?

Thanks!

Bruce
